Review: Match Perfection!

Rimmel London Match Perfection:

This is the first ever foundation I bought, I love this as its a light foundation and has brilliant coverage, its a wet foundation when applied to the skin but when it dry's looks amazing. Its a liquid but can be built up to give more coverage.

I have really bad skin, not only do I have acne, I have acne scars and redness under my eyes. This foundation is brilliant on its own at covering these and brilliant when used with a concealer. Its perfect for summer as it has an SPF of 18. Its really flawless, I'm using the shade 103 True Ivory, which is to dark for my pale skin, so I've bought 100 ivory which is the correct shade for my skin, 10 Light Porcelain is to light for my skin, I've found it very hard to find the correct colour as sometimes its to light and sometimes to dark, I do have pale skin but the foundations are never the right shade.

Lush: Mask of Magnaminty!

Mask of Magnaminty! This face mask is my go to, its really good for your skin, helps fight acne and is not tested on animals!

This face mask has peppermint, honey, ground aduki beans, evening primrose seeds,African marigold oil and fair trade vanilla. This face mask  helps to fight face eruptions and outbreaks and helps to return it to tip top condition!

Lush face masks are all homemade and use the finest of ingredients to help your skin. This face mask is for acne, there are loads of different face masks to help your skin, cupcake is also a acne fighting face mask!

I love this, it has a refreshing smell, that helps me relax, it soothes my skin (I have sensitive skin and this is ok on my skin and doesn't affect me) Its not expensive if you buy the small tub, mine is still lasting me after 2 months. I use this face mask once a week on a Sunday and sometimes a Wednesday.

DIY: Honey face mask!

Have you ever thought of using honey as a face mask? Honey is so good for you skin, not only is it antibacterial its also has lactic acid in it which the acidic properties in it which can exfoliate your skin.

Honey can also reduce your acne! Who knew honey was so good for your skin? I think Cleopatra knew!

How to make your face mask:

  • There are many different ways to use the honey face mask, you can use it on its own or use it with something else.
  • Put a small amount of honey in your hands and rub into your skin, leave on for 5-10 minutes (I left mine on for 20 mins)
  • Mix 2 tablespoons of honey with 3 tablespoons of yogurt into it and apply to the face leave for 5-10 minutes.
  • The way to remove the face masks: rinse with warm water and rub the face mask off.
I find honey really soothing when on my face it doesn't irritate and is gentle.

What honey do I need to use?
You can use any honey the best is raw, manuka and natural from a farm near you, if you cant get hold of these don't worry any honey will do.
One of the great things about a honey face mask is its edible! And smells really good!

DIY: Face cleanser!

Have you ever thought of using olive oil as a face cleanser? Olive oil does not make your skin oily, contrary to what people think olive oil can cure acne because its an antioxidant and a anti-inflammatory.

  1. Antibacterial:
  • Extra virgin olive oil contains antibacterial properties.
  • As bacteria can worsen acne so using olive oil can help to prevent acne becoming worse.
  • Thus making it easier to clear your acne!
2. Antioxidant:
  • Extra virgin olive oil contains Polyphenol a powerful antioxidant.
  • Polyphenol helps to keep the skin moist.
  • Acne can heal faster when its moist.
  • Although your acne can heal when its dry, but acne scars and spots may still be on your skin.
3. Anti-inflammation:
  • Pure extra virgin olive oil has anti-inflammatory properties which can help to stop inflammation. This can help to prevent your acne from becoming infectious.
4. Skin scrubs:
  • Skin scrubs can be made from pure extra virgin olive oil.
  • These are the best scrubs for unblocking your pores.
  • They can remove dead skin cells and improve blood circulation.
  • The scrub can also reduce acne scars.
I really love this to take makup off, its an amazing makeup remover that's probably in your kitchen!

Eyebrows: Waxed or Threaded?

What are waxed and threaded eyebrows?

Waxed:

  • Waxing removes the hair from the roots.
  • New hair can't grow back in the place it was removed.
  • Wax is applied to the eyebrow then removed with a strip.
  • Waxing can remove more hair than other ways.
  • Waxing although can be painful.
  • The pain is not long lasting.
  •   Sometimes it can be expensive.
  • It hurts more when you first get it done as the hairs are thick.
I get my eyebrows waxed every month or when they start to become bushy! When you have your eyebrows waxed you can also have them tinted (coloured) I find tinting eyebrows natural and not over done where as HD brows fake, but they look good on a few people, but I feel I suit natural!

Threading:
  • A thin thread is double and twisted, its then rolled on the 'Unwanted hairs' and they're removed at follicle level.
  • Threading provides more control to shaping.
  • The 'Mouth method' is the quickest way to get them threaded.
  • Threading is more painful for people with low pain thresholds.
I have never had my eyebrows threaded but I have been told its very painful and I have a low pain threshold so I would be crying! I sometimes cry when I get my eyebrows waxed when they are really bushy!

I love this its so true!

The most expensive Lip Liner is:

Max Factor at £6.99!

These are the MUA Lip Liners:

MUA Twelfth Night

I love this palette, its not only got fabulous colours it is affordable.

Its a Christmas addition.

My favourite colour combinations are:

Hush on the base of my eyes then I put All spice in the crease of my eyes.

I also love Plum and Ivy as they are very festive but can also be worn other times of the year.

I also like Star Shine and Enchant for dramatic smokey eyes to make it even more dramatic add frost to the inner corners of the eye.

This is the smokey look i tried, the flash is too bright but I used the colours Fir, Coal and Frost.

My Morning Makeup!

I love using these products to put on my everyday makeup. They are affordable products.

I always found it hard to find a foundation that not only suited my pale skin but also covered my acne, when I did find that foundation it was amazing, it has been my holy grail for the last 2 years and I swear by it.

Rimmel London Match Perfection:

This foundation can be built up for more coverage, this is what I do to cover my acne. I am using at the moment the colour 103 True Ivory, I think this shade is too dark for my skin but it does add colour to my cheeks!

Next I use MUA cover and conceal:

This is a great concealer its perfect for acne, acne scars and for covering under eye bags. I use it in the colour Fair. I have found that this is slightly to light but it covers the acne.

Next I like to set my makeup using Rimmel London Stay Matte:

This is great at setting the makeup and it can be used to set lipstick aswell because its in the colour 001 Transparent.

Next I put some eyeshadow on, Maxfactor shadow pot:

This eyeshadow is a shiny white colour its in the shade Wild and is perfect for highlighting your eyebrows, I use as a base shadow to absorb the other eyeshadow.

Next I like to use a selection of eyeshadows in my MUA palette:

I love the palette, my friend bought for me for christmas. She has her own blog, makeupfantasic.blogaspot.co.uk, I love the colours All spice and plum. The palette is called Twelfth Night.

Next I put my mascara on MUA lash boom:

I love this, its like an expensive brand of mascara but cheaper. Its really good at lengthening lashes and adding volume to them. The colour of it is Black.

That is what I do most days, although sometimes I put lipstick on, but not always.

My Favourite brushes!

I love the Real Techniques Brushes created by Sam and Nick Chapman. They are beautiful brushes to work with and blend easily.

My favourite brushes at the moment are the Foundation brush:

Sorry my bush is a bit dirty!

I love this brush as it has amazing coverage. It doesn't work the product in but it covers acne, acne blemishes and acne scars.

My other favourite brush is the Expert Face Brush:

I love this brush as it works the product into the skin, it leaves the skin looking beautiful. It has good coverage if you buff the product into the skin.
